Wimbledon Theatre
This theatre refurbishment at The Wimbledon Theatre, a Grade II Listed building, included reconstruction and re-tiering of the Upper Circle or Gallery to improve the sightlines. New seating was installed to improve audience comfort. The project also included a new lighting gallery at the front of the Upper Circle, below the audience sightlines. The new tiered floor accommodates seating for over 300 people and replaces the original 'cushions-on-concrete'.
Detailed consultations with English Heritage and the local authority's Conservation and Safety Officer's were an important part of the programme.
