Design proposals for converting The Grade II Listed Rotunda into a theatre include construction of a second gallery and the addition of a new glass foyer. When completed, the Rotunda Theatre will have a seating capacity of 250 in an intimate auditorium. It is intended that the theatre will produce its own shows, comedy nights and musical performances and encourage touring companies to visit as part of a national tour. The Rotunda is situated on the banks of the river Wey in Godalming and dates from 1883. Originally designed as a Sunday School and Mission Room for the adjoining Congregational Church, it has been described as ". . . a mini Globe waiting to happen."
